Ginny started Square Dancing in 1960 with her parents and then became part of a Teen Club. John started dancing in 1977 with the Swinging Singles. During his second year he became Badge Committee Chairperson and did this job for 2years at which time he became the Chairperson of the Plus level. In 1990 John volunteered his time for the National Convention in Vancouver and spent most of his time there as a Hall Monitor. He saw the opportunity to utilize his camera and thus started his career in photography. Since then he has found many ways to portray his pictures - even some of his active pictures on U-Tube and Face Book.

Now some years later, after the teen years, Ginny started as an adult in 1999 with the Swinging Singles. At Convention 2000 John was back volunteering again - mostly as a Hall Monitor. In 2002 was elected as the President of the Swinging Singles.

2002 - 2004 Ginny met John, the President of the Swinging Singles. Together they took Round Dance Lessons 2003 - 2008 with Anita & Dan Adams.

In 2003 the Fraser Valley Association was searching for someone to take on the task of Heritage Curator. John was recommended by two different dancers for this position and so he accepted the position. With the position under his arm no-one and we mean no-one could even imagine the job that he did to catalogue, label, store and compile a computer of hundreds if not thousands items in storage. It was a sad day, not only to him, but to many others also when the F.V. decided it was just too costly to continue the Heritage site and thus is was dismantled and many articles were returned to their original donators as he had kept a complete record of all the donators.

On June 30, 2007 John and Ginny were married and many Square Dance Friends helped them celebrate this happy occasion.

John was the Public Relations and Publicity convener for the Singles Club and also joined the Joint Promotion Committee as their Advertising person in 2007.

In 2007 Ginny became the Secretary for the Promotion Committee and then in 2009 they were promoted to the position of Secretary of the F.V.S. & R.D.A. - a job they held for 4 years. .

In 2010 they joined the Town n' Country Swingers making this their home club. She is presently on the Executive of the Club as their Club Chatter Reporter.

In 2013 John became the Public Relations and Publicity person for the Town n'Country Swingers. He still maintains accounts with Shutterfly, Twitter, Facebook, Meet2P.

In 2013 they volunteered and worked with the Oceanside B.C. Festival.

They have been very supportive of our recreation and have publicized different events while visiting clubs near and far.
